Art in Fashion
For Paula, fashion is a form of creative expression. Original textile patterns, bold silhouettes and dramatic details give each design an identity of its own. An idea can begin as a drawing and develop into a garment, an accessory or a new way to explore movement and form.

Paula’s Papua New Guinean roots remain central to Phiz Rogue. Living and designing in Germany brings another dimension to the work. The label draws on that meeting of heritage and personal experience, acknowledging the origins of its inspiration while creating something for the present.

Phiz Rogue takes a slow-fashion approach, giving attention to silhouette, movement and styling. Limited pieces and experimental designs leave room for individuality. The Sexy Talar is one expression of that approach: a signature concept inspired by the flowing character of the Papua New Guinean meri blouse.
